Behind the name
Our story
Zel Designs is more than just a business—it’s a name with deep roots in family. My mum used to call me “Zel” as a nickname—short for Greerzelda, Zelda, Zel. It was a family tradition of unique names, just like my kids and nieces, who go by Elfie, Peyty Pie, Jaffy, Jebby, and Phiphi Boo. When I started my website design business, I chose the name “Zel” without thinking too much about it. But over time, it has come to mean so much more, especially with the passing of my mum. Now, it’s a reminder of my why—family, connection, and authenticity.
When you work with Zel Designs, you’re not just getting a website; you’re working directly with me, Greer, the owner and designer behind it all. Every project is managed and completed by me, with occasional support from trusted local freelancers and small businesses—never offshore outsourcing. Quality, personal service, and strong values are at the heart of everything I do.
With experience building websites across various industries—including trades, builders, mortgage brokers, and building consultancy firms—I have a strong connection to the building industry. Having worked on the marketing and tender side of construction, I understand the space and know how to create websites that resonate with your audience. First, we’ll have a chat about your business, goals, and what you need from your website. You’ll complete a short form to give us key details, helping us provide an accurate estimate.
- Request a quote
Quote & Deposit
Based on your needs, we’ll provide a clear quote. Once agreed, you’ll pay a 50% deposit to lock in the project. At this stage, you’ll also send through any content (like text, images, or branding assets) for your website.

Design & Layout
We’ll create a visual concept, choosing colours, fonts, and layouts to make sure your site looks and feels perfect for your brand.

Building the Website
Now, we turn the design into a real, working website, adding pages, images, and content to bring everything to life
